Overview: 

This course provides an overview of the role of community-based rehabilitation (CBR) in meeting the needs of people with disabilities. The important components and approaches in CBR are discussed using examples of CBR programmes from various developing countries including Malaysia. Students will be given opportunities to visit CBR centres to participate in, observe and evaluate the programmes and activities carried out. In addition, this course can help prepare students who are interested in pursuing careers in special education outside the school context.
